Devil Dogs Production Details

Filming

To ensure the highest quality film, the production:

  • Utilized cutting-edge, top-of-the-line equipment. The short film was shot with two RED cameras, and the addition of a steadicam.

  • Shot at a professional back-lot location to replicate the context of the Fallujah environment (this is the exact same location Clint Eastwood used to film American Sniper)

  • Hired four military advisors (three U.S. Marine veterans and one U.S. Navy camera and combat veteran), including one Marine who actually served and fought in Fallujah in 2004.

  • Conferred with participants in the actual battle. Director Lindsay Holt reached out to Colonel Mike Shupp (USMC ret.), who was the Regimental Commander, 1st Marine Regiment, and who graciously and generously shared personal details the filmmakers incorporated into the story for accuracy, even replicating action props to match items carried by the Colonel.

The Crew

The production created a team of high-level filmmakers who worked on projects including The Bourne Identity, White House Down, Up In The Air, I Am Legend, Open Range, Twilight, Anger Management, Thank You For Smoking, Dexter, Castle, The Division, and Face/Off.

The Cast

The production built a cast of amazing actors who have been featured on television in Ray Donovan, CSI: Miami, Code Black, The Mentalist, Castle, Bones, Pretty Little Liars, Law & Order: LA, and Alias, and appeared in the films American Sniper, Fort Bliss, The Dark Knight Rises, and Star Trek.

The Music

The production hired musician Ira Ingber to produce the theme song for the film. Ira has worked with such music industry notables as Bob Dylan, Brian Wilson, J.D. Souther, and Bonnie Raitt.
